Progressive cattle ranch seeking a foreman with a minimum of 5 years' experience.

The ranch operates on 30,000 acres of deeded, State, and BLM in Sublette County, WY. Operations include 400 acres of flood irrigated hay meadows and multiple pivots. Grazing operations include 500 head of mother cows and the ranch takes in 1,000 head of pasture cattle each grazing season. The ranch is working to increase the cow herd to 700-800 head.

The candidate will be operating a high elevation ranch with a short growing season. Experience in those conditions is a must. Successful candidates will have a mindset geared toward maximizing production while enhancing sustainability of the resource. The applicant is expected to study and implement best practices for irrigated rotational grazing systems.

This is a modern ranching operation that strives to keep the heritage of the West. Operating priorities include good animal husbandry, low stress livestock handling, low stress calving, current vaccine and disease treatment protocols, and progressive beef marketing programs. One must be willing to strive for the best animal environment possible.

The ranch contains 30+ miles of trout streams and private trail system the runs over 100 miles. In addition, the ranch manages 24 ponds and lakes with water control features, rangeland, and river bottom habitats. The successful applicant must be willing to understand, appreciate, and continue the owner's vision of a profitable cattle ranch that maximizes wildlife habitat and conservation.

This position is performance based with metrics for profitability, conservation, and community.

Pay DOE and includes 401K, health, dental, vision, and beef. Housing is available.
